The United States is a major importer of automotive parts, with imports being the main source. In the United States, the automotive aftermarket is a very important industry, with a workforce of 41000 in 2012 and growing year by year. The specific business content of this industry includes the purchase and service of products for light, medium, and heavy vehicles, as well as the sales and replacement of automotive parts, accessories, lubricants, appearance products, tires, collision repair, and the sales of necessary tools and equipment for maintenance. In recent years, the total sales of the US automotive parts market have been $307.7 billion, an increase of 3.5% from 2011. Among them, the total sales of car and light truck parts amounted to 231.2 billion US dollars, while the total sales of medium and heavy vehicle parts amounted to 76.5 billion US dollars. The new car dealerships represent the largest distribution channels (62.2 billion US dollars), with all independent dealerships selling nearly 170 billion US dollars worth of aftermarket products and services. In recent years, China has had a good relationship with the US market, and Chinese auto parts products have gained a certain market share in the US due to their advantages of good quality and low price.
