The idea behind this atypical exhibition stems from an observation: there is a lack of second-hand boat exhibitions in autumn to reduce trade in at the end of the season. Grand Pavois exhibition in La Rochelle (September) and Nautic exhibition in Paris (December). Therefore, Crouesty professionals gathered together to create an association that will organize the first second-hand boat exhibition. In 1987, the program was renamed "Le Mille Sabords" and found its logo - the black and white checkered lighthouse. For over 35 years, Le Mille Sabords has become the largest second-hand ship exhibition in Europe. Every Halloween, over 60000 people are welcomed on the pontoon bridge of Dukruesti Port in Morbihan Bay.
Tourists come to search for the perfect second-hand family sailboats, fishing day boats, or powerful outboard engines that provide a great feeling for outings. Up to 700 ships were exhibited in total. The advantage of this exhibition lies in the unity of professionals from Crouesty Port, which enables the exhibition to continue and continuously develop to adapt to the market.
From an economic perspective, the project has currently generated a profit of 12 million euros, and 35% of the exhibited ships have been sold within 4 days.
